A Twitter Review of @NSNDP @NSPC and @NSLiberal Accounts

We follow the #nspoli tag on Twitter closely to keep an eye on what politicians and their political staff are up to, and to encourage them to send us insider information more often.

Politically astute Nova Scotians who use Twitter take social media seriously, and often take politicians to task for not recognizing that social media should be social. Readers’ responses to politicians use of Twitter formed the basis of an earlier post you can read here.

We counted how many conversations the three Nova Scotia political parties had with Nova Scotians. Here is the updated chart for 2011 for the @nsndp @nspc and @nsliberal accounts.

A chart of how the NSNDP, NSPC and NS Liberal Parties use Twitter to engage with people.

Note: Retweets (RTs), Follow Fridays (FFs), or “Thanks for the RT” and “Thanks for the FF” are not conversations. The @NSNDP account does these things frequently, but are not used in our review.
